The yearly Acadian Festival has come and pass. The Gagnon family reunion was a great time for all. This year’s theme was (C’est la fete! = It’s a celebration). Here is some pictures of the parade and other activities they had.
The lost of a Madawaska native.
The lost of a Madawaska native that may very well affect the future of this community.

A young Madawaska town councilman’s death has the potential to change the future for the locals in the St. John Valley. Mike Violette forty-eight years young has pass into Gods hands. Mike a man of change, a man with visions of the future and a loving, caring man for family and community will be greatly miss. Replacing such a man will not be easy and may play a big factor in the future for needed change in the community. Mike had courage to set the course for the future .Something that is missing in today’s politicians
Acadian 24 send its sincere sympathies to Mike’s Family and to the Madawaska community for a very dear lost.

Story teller that introduces himself as a Musher
I’m always proud to meet local folks that take the time to in gage in life at its fullest .And intrigue by their spirit of life that radiates all around them. Yesterday in my travels of the local valleys I ran across a fellow that runs the BAISLEY LODGES in BAISLEY N.B. Canada. A man of many talents (GINO ROUSSEL). A talented story teller that introduces himself as a Musher. Myself I believe he’s an artist and much more. Gino mention he ran in the 30 mile race at the CAN-AM International Dog Sled Races in Fort-Kent, and that I could read about his adventure on his blog. One of his titles(MY SLICE OF HEAVEN) is a great story, check it out.
